Mobility of Interphase Boundaries and Hysteresis of Martensitic Transformation in Alloys

چکیده
A phenomenological description of martensitic transformation is proposed on the basis of such parameters as: a degree of lattice coherency between austenite and martensite phases, mobility of interphase boundaries, elastic energy stored during martensitic transformation and degree of its relaxation. Son),: experimental results confirming the proposed ideas are presented.

Some Results in Non-Linear Physics of Martensitic Transformation
Statistica1 thermodynamics of martensitic transformation is developed in the frame of the self-consistent field approximation. The accommodation mechanisms of the parent phase to the martensitic variant growth are described by the three order parameters. The latters reflect the concentration and the orientation of the martensitic phase and the dislocation density at the interphase boundaries. S...
متن کاملMartensitic transformations and mobility of twin boundaries in Ni2MnGa alloys studied by using internal friction
Internal friction (IF) was measured in two non-stoichiometric Ni2MnGa alloys. Several IF peaks attributed to some restructuring of the martensitic lattice were observed below Ms. From the strain dependence of IF, the activation enthalpy for movement of twin boundaries between martensitic domains was estimated to be equal to 0.02–0.04 eV. 2003 Acta Materialia Inc. متن کاملDamping Properties of Shape Memory Alloys During Phase Transformation
A high damping capacity is considered as one of the important functional properties of shape memory alloys. Those properties are related to a thermoelastic martensitic transformation. As a consequence of this transformation, the internal friction or damping can be investigated for three different states: 1. during thermal transformation cycling, 2. during martensite induced strain cycling at co...
متن کاملMolecular dynamics simulation of the martensitic phase transformation in NiAl alloys.
Using molecular dynamics simulations with an embedded-atom interatomic potential, we study the effect of chemical composition and uniaxial mechanical stresses on the martensitic phase transformation in Ni-rich NiAl alloys. The martensitic phase has a tetragonal crystal structure and can contain multiple twins arranged in domains and plates. The transformation is reversible and is characterized ...
